Jeff Dunham's Hilarious Redneck Bubba J Character

All people, especially Americans, are fond of watching comedy shows. Everyone who has a slightest interest in comedy is aware of the name Jeff Dunham Bubba J. It is a household name in the USA and is very famous for stand-up comedy, TV shows, and performing arts.

Some shows of Dunham which became popular were the ones which were aired on the American cable TV channel Comedy Central. His three well-liked shows on that channel were”Arguing with Myself”, “Spark of Insanity”, and “A Very Special Christmas”. He also appeared as a guest actor in quite a lot of shows like “Late show with David Letterman”,” Comedy Central Presents”, “The Tonight Show”, “Star Search”, and“Sonny with a Chance”.

He is well-known for his art of performing with puppets. In his various shows, he appeared with different comical figures depicting characters of numerous people from the showbiz world. Two of his famous puppets Bubba J
and Jose the Jalapeno on a stick were admired by the public. Through those marionettes, he tried to pay a tribute to the renowned ventriloquists of the earlier times.

Jeff Dunham’s character Bubba J was an ostensible acknowledgment to Edgar Bergen. Bubba J holds a great deal of similarity with Edgar’s puppet Mortimer Snerd. Similarly, Dunham used Jose the Jalapeno on a stick to pay homage to Señor Wences.

Bubba J was portrayed as a redneck and beer drinking person whom Jeff illustrates as “white trash trailer park”. He used Bubba J in two of his series “Arguing with Myself” and “A very special Christmas” for comical purposes. Many of Jeff’s jokes are related to Bubba J’s weakness, which is boozing beer, its stupidity, and its love for NASCAR.
Whereas his other puppet Jose was depicted as a jalapeno pepper on a stick that sports a sombrero and possesses the power to speak as well. Jose was always accompanied by a talking peanut that made fun of Jose. The special thing about Jose was that it was Jeff’s first creation.

Apart from Jeff Dunham’s Bubba J and Jose the Jalapeno on a stick, Jeff also created and used other marionettes in his shows. Besides crafting puppets, Jeff is also fond of collecting antique dummies. One of his major acquisitions is a seventy year old puppet which he obtained in 2008. That dummy was initially built for a girl’s softball game but went unused due to some reason until Jeff got hold of it. Click here to see the Jeff Dunham Bubba J talking doll.
